Pregnancy & After Birth Care
What is prenatal and postnatal yoga?
Yoga is a great tool to support women in such transformative and vulnerable life phases like pregnacy and after-birth recovery including bonding, breastfeeding etc.
Much like other types of childbirth-preparation classes, prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing. Research suggests that prenatal yoga is safe and can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies.
Prenatal yoga can:
- Improve sleep
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Increase the strength, stamina, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for the labour
- Decrease lower back pain, nausea, headaches
- Strengthen the nervous system and improve the breathing techniques to reduce the pain during the labour
Prenatal yoga can also help you meet and bond with other pregnant women and prepare for the stress of being a new parent.
Postnatal yoga
It is designed to support postpartum recovery and the smooth transition into motherhood.
These classes will address the physical and emotional challenges many new mothers face, from lack of sleep and heightened sensitivity to celebrating your body’s incredible journey.
Postanatal yoga can help:
- Strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, core and abdominal muscles
- Improve your posture and make the belly flatter
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Release the tension in the spine and neck area
- Rebalance the nervous system
- Calm the mind, center yourself.
While doing exercies, special breathing techniques and meditating, you’ll find the ongoing and unconditional support you need for yourself and your child.

Perinatal Craniosacral Support
for Pregnant Ladies, New Moms and Newborn Babies
If you are pregnant or have just given birth, craniosacral therapy can provide physical and emotional support during what is one of the most significant life experiences for both yourself and your baby.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy draws on the latest developments in pre and perinatal psychology and acknowledges how the way we come into the world shapes our lives.
Mum and baby go through the birth process together but sometimes your experience of what happens before and at birth can be different from your baby’s experience so it is important to listen to everyone’s story and provide a space for any unresolved feelings and sensations to be expressed and released.
Craniosacral therapy during pregnancy:
- can relieve physical symptoms that will allow you to feel more comfortable during the whole pregnancy
- provides a space for you to be held and experience your pregnancy as a sacred time in which you can most intimately connect with yourself and your baby
- being heard deeply in a session can help you better understand what you need and relax into what you want your birth experience to be
- can help you process physical and emotional issues from your own birth trauma or from previously giving birth, in a way that leaves space for the new pregnancy and birth to be experienced differently.
Cranio for babies and children
New mothers and babies need a supportive holding field and often appreciate receiving Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy sessions.
The Biodynamic approach offers an overview of developmental needs and challenges of mothers and their babies from conception (or even pre-conception) through pregnancy, birth and post-natal bonding.
How can we best meet and support birthing women and babies at this important time of life?
We look at ways of working within the family field and examine how to recognize and gently support resolution of trauma incurred through the process of having or being a child coming into life.
The practitioner applies the skills designed to deepen ability to meet this important transition in our clients with an orientation to resource and the deep universal support of the Breath of Life.
This work can generally resolve the following issues:
– sleeping/breastfeeding difficulties
– colic, reflux, digestion
– bonding
– birth trauma release
For older children, craniosacral therapy can help with a range of physical and emotional issues that may still be an expression of unresolved birth trauma.
